Thoughts on Diane Rehm's article

I feel that todays society is definitely living in a technology state of mind. The face-to-face conversations are happening less and less. I do feel that part of the reasoning is because it's a lot easier to just pick up the phone and Facebook someone or text them. Easier maybe, the best way to communicate, I personally don't think so. Having face-to-face interactions can help build one's communication skills and techniques in all real life situations. Not to mention when someone texts you and al their letters are in caps.... Does that mean they are yelling at you? Or does it mean they are excited about that certain subject? Who really knows over a computer screen or on your cellular device..... Face-to-face interactions are maybe sometimes nerve racking, but who learns everything in life the easy way?

One thing that kept popping in my head as I was listening to these conversations was how hard it is to get a job now-a-days. I remember the good old days where someone could walk into a company, fill out an application, and then sit down and talk to a manager. I've applied for so many jobs in the last ten years that direct you to a internet website for the application, and then maybe hear back from someone eventually... maybe!

The days of face-to-face interactions is long in the past. Unfortunately we have become a lazy generation and people all too often resort to the easiest way of doing things. I am going to school for human communications.....not phone communications.
