Is Edward Snowden a patriot or a trader?
When I first watched this video, and new I had to write something about Snowden, I was thinking how Edward was sticking up for what he thought was the right thing to do. I thought for sure he is a patriot and he is trying to open the eyes of Americans all over the world.
As I thought about it further, and from all the talking in the classroom, Edward Snowden basically told people what they already know. (Or should know anyways) So for Edward to come out and break his signed agreement with the NSA he was just trying to blow the situation into a bigger mess than it was going to be. I agree with other peoples papers that he simply was trying to make this situation a huge ordeal.
We know we are being watched by the government, people frankly don't give a damn. As we were studying the easy accessibility to our hand held devices, cell phones etc., I was shocked to see the percentage of people that simply don't care if they are being watched. Even if they get a text message saying, "I know what you're doing and were you are, be careful what you indulge on your cell phone." People still went on with all their daily activities as if nothing happened.
So frankly if people are going to be stupid with their choice of information shared and their activities, then there should be no complaining about this whole subject matter at all.
Did Snowden do what he thought was good for his fellow Americans? Maybe, but the bottle of worms he opened was not as necessary as he probably thought it was to open.
